has therefore been
BLOCKED by Microsoft!  Very useful (I don't think).
For an easy solution please click

.

Somewhere, in deepest Week St. Mary, we have situated a webcam, broadcasting live images, (most of the time) of an extremely busy set of bird tables and feeders. To view the images please click on the above link; this will open a new web page which contains the actual image and buttons to allow movement of the camera (pan, tilt & zoom).

Some species seen so far...

Blackbird
Robin
Greenfinch
Goldfinch
Chaffinch
Goldcrest
Bullfinch
Nuthatch
Siskin
Starling
Magpie
Corn Bunting
House Sparrow
Blue Tit
Woodcock
Ring-necked Dove
Squirrel
Great Spotted Woodpecker
Hedge Sparrow
Great Tit
Coal Tit
Marsh Tit
Jay
Sparrowhawk !!

November 2008: Regrettably, after 26,280 hours the original webcam has 'died' so a new model of camera has been purchased. This camera is even better than the previous one as it now allows you to 'zoom' in addition to 'pan' and 'tilt'

• PLEASE NOTE:-  After logging in, if you do NOT see a picture at all, it is possible that you are suffering from the known issue after having installed Microsoft'sİ Silverlight as part of Windows updates - the solution is simple: go to (In Windows XP) Control Panel, select Add/Remove Programs or (In Vista) Control Panel, select Programs & Features, select and uninstall Silverlight - the camera will now work!  The removal of Silverlight does not change the way Windows operates.

Some of the snapshots taken
using the "Snapshot" button....
Snapshot #1 Snapshot #2
Snapshot #3 Snapshot #4

If this is your first visit, you will be presented with a warning that you are required to install an ActiveX component... this is perfectly normal and safe - ( it is a small piece of software that controls the display of the webcam and allows you to move the webcam around).
After a few moments (depending on the speed of your connection) you will have to install a small piece of software - this is also safe! and then you will be presented with a 'Log In' box.
An example of the Log In screen
Log-In Box

Tick the
'Remember my password' box

CONTROLS
Snapshot Click to 'take a snapshot of the current image then 'right-click' the new image and select 'Save picture as...'
Client Settings There are no options that need to be altered in this section
'Top Hat' Click Left, Right, Up or Down as required. The 'House' will return the camera to the 'home' position
Go To... Choosing Sky, Home or Floor will move the camera to those positions
Pan Speed
Tilt Speed
Zoom Speed
Focus Speed
Changing the numbers will alter the way the camera reacts. The settings are from -5 to 5, with -5 the slowest. When zooming in other settings need to be at the slowest except the focus speed.
- Zoom + Causes the camera to zoom in (+) or out (-) accordingly.
- Focus + Causes the camera to focus in (+) or out (-) accordingly.
- Iris + Causes the camera to change the iris setting in (+) or out (-) accordingly.
Auto-pan Makes the camera 'auto-pan' unless you click 'stop'. The camera will traverse nearly all the way round but you will see nothing other than the inside of the camera housing - best not use it!
Stop
Auto Patrol Configured to do nothing!
The only limitation is that a maximum of 10 connections are allowed at any one time, so if it's busy, please try again later.

PLEASE NOTE:
AUDIO IS NOT ENABLED
so don't try shouting at it!!
