Division 5   •  17th December  2005
Week St. Mary   8   -   3  St. Columb Major Reserves

A solid team performance by Week earned them a convincing win despite St Columb scoring after two minutes, when a shot was deflected off a defender; but Week equalised very soon after with a looping header from Wayne Hannaford. The home side continued to press forward and went ahead after 30 minutes when Rob Hambly’s cross was slotted in by Gavin Aplin. Two long range strikes soon after by Rob Hambly and Antony Sachs put Week in control. Just before half time an own goal and a chip by Ben Smeeth over the ‘keeper put the home side 6-1 up.
St Columb scored early in the second half and kept Week at bay until the 65th minute when Gavin Aplin got his second. An individual run down the left wing by Rob Hambly whose cross found Ben Smeeth completed the scoring for Week with St Columb getting one back 5 minutes later.
St Columb scorers were Ben Atherton, John Price and Mark Maiden with Tom Price working hard in defence.

Week St. Mary   2   -   1  St. Teath Reserves

On a very cold but wind free afternoon Week St Mary dominated play in the first half with most of the possession and went ahead after twenty minutes when Wayne Hannaford threaded his shot through the defence. Soon after some good passing play by the home side found Gavin Aplin who rounded the defender and slotted the ball across the goal into the far corner.
St Teath came out determinedly in the second half with Scott Bennett getting an early goal to put them back in the game. The visitors continued to pressurise Week, who ‘went to sleep’ for the first thirty minutes, but despite a couple of chances failed to level the score. Week got back into the game with substitute Matt Proudfoot making some penetrating runs into the area and visiting ‘keeper Ben Skinner making some good saves. With no further score Week took the points in a game played in good spirit, entertaining the many home supporters.

Mount Charles SC   2   -   5  Week St. Mary

Week St. Mary made a good start and went ahead after 7 minutes when Gavin Aplin slotted it through to Steven Short who rounded the defender and stroked it past the ‘keeper. Soon after Gavin Aplin made no mistake and netted at close range from Antony Sachs’ cross. Mount Charles fought back strongly and pressurised Week with several shots just going wide and were rewarded in the 40th minute with a penalty, taken by Bobby Lee Johns, to put them back in the game. Just before half time a defensive misunderstanding by Week allowed the home side an equaliser when Nigel Hancock lobbed the ‘keeper.
Week came out strongly in the second half determined to reclaim the lead and had most of the possession, finally going ahead again after 65 minutes when Darren John’s header down into the box went through the ‘keepers legs. Week took control and went further ahead with Robbie Hambly’s low drive into the far corner, and Darren John’s getting his second from a close range header in the box.

Week St. Mary   5   -   0  Biscovey Reserves

On a heavy pitch both teams worked hard in the first half, which although it remained goal less both sides had chances especially Week St Mary, with Darren Johns going close on several occasions.
But although Biscovey had managed to contain Week in the first half, two goals early in the second half by Ben Smeeth and Rob Hambly saw the home side take control. Substitute Matt Proudfoot came on after 60 minutes and made it three with Rob Hambly getting his second when his shot rebound against the ‘keeper who was out of his area and left an open goal. Five minutes from time Rob Hambly got his hat-trick when his shot was kicked back out by the ‘keeper only for Rob to drive it back into the net. In the end a convincing win by Week with Biscovey putting in a strong performance in the first half.

Division 5   •  28th January 2006
Delabole Reserves  0   -   4  Week St. Mary

On a bitterly cold windy afternoon it was bottom of the division Delabole who could have gone ahead in the first 15 minutes but were denied by three excellent saves from ‘keeper Matt Oke. The home team tackled hard and kept Week at bay with the help of ‘keeper Ryan Kesstell who also pulled off some very good saves in the first half which remained goal-less.
The second half saw Week start to get into their stride and break the deadlock after 67 minutes when Rob Hambly’s cross found Gavin Aplin in the box who slotted it home. Soon after ‘keeper Matt Oke made another important save to deny Delabole an equaliser with Week also having a shot cleared off the line. But with the home side running out of steam Week took advantage and substitute Richard Osborne made it 2, with Rob Hambly going through the defence for his first followed by a corner which curled inside the near post.
A strong performance by Delabole in the first half with Week digging in and coming back strongly in the second half to claim the points.

Division 5   •  4th February 2006
Week St. Mary  10   -   0  St. MInver Reserves

Week St. Mary ran out convincing winners against struggling St. Minver Reserves. The home side dominated play starting with an early goal by Wayne Hannaford and several squandered chances, before Rob Hambly got his first from a curling strike after 24 minutes. Steven Short scored from close range with Rob Hambly making it 4 at half time. The home side continued with some good passing play with Steven Short scoring twice more, for his hat trick, early in the second half. St Minver didn’t give up but were unable to make any headway and Richard Osborne made it seven with a great strike from Rob Hambly to complete his hat trick. Darren Johns completed Week’s scoring, with an unfortunate own goal by St. Minver just on the final whistle.

Division 5   •  11th February 2006
Week St. Mary  1   -   1  Porthia

Playing for the first time on their reserve pitch Week had more possession and chances in the first half but it was the visitors who controversially went ahead after 24 minutes. With Week having an injured player down in Porthia’s half ‘keeper Matt Oke come out of his area to clear the ball only for it to rebound against Adrian Lean who chipped it from 30 yards into the open goal. A determined Week came out in the second half with an early driving shot by Wayne Hannaford pushed away by ‘keeper Matt Trendall. Porthia had a couple of shots wide of the goal but it was Week who got a deserved equaliser after 75 minutes when Tom Hannaford’s long pass over the defence picked out Steven Short who slotted it home. With both ’keepers making vital saves in the last ten minutes the score remained level. Despite having more possession and playing the better football it was a below par performance by Week who worked hard to earn the draw.

Week St. Mary  4   -   0  Lanreath Reserves

After a disappointing draw last week Week St. Mary were more than ready to take on the Division leaders Lanreath in this top of the table clash. They dominated play in the first half on a very heavy pitch and went ahead after eight minutes when Wayne Hannaford slotted it through to Rob Hambly who slid a low shot into the corner. Week continued to attack with several missed chances and ‘keeper Martin Hamlet pulling off two good saves to deny the home side further advantage. Matt Proudfoot came close several times early in the first half with his perseverance finally rewarded when the ‘keeper’s clearance rebound off him back into the open goal. Lanreath had a chance to get back in the game but were denied when Tom Hannaford cleared off the line. The home side pressed forward with some good football with headers from Antony Sachs and Wayne Hannaford completing the scoring. A good team performance by Week to give them a deserved victory and keep them in the running for promotion.

Division 5   •  4th March 2006
Week St. Mary  5   -   0  Pelynt Reserves

A convincing win by Week St. Mary, despite a resolute and battling Pelynt holding them to 1 - 0 at half time. Week attacked from the whistle and should have gone ahead after 15 minutes from a penalty or numerous shots on target, but were denied by some excellent work from ‘keeper Patrick Pollard. They finally got the breakthrough after 35 minutes when Ben Smeeth found Rob Hambly in the box who drove his shot low into the far corner.
Week continued to dominate in the second half and went 2 up after 5 minutes when Darren Johns netted from close range. Fortunately another missed penalty by Week didn’t matter as Gavin Aplin slotted it past the ‘keeper shortly after. Pelynt never looked like scoring and were reduced to ten men for the final 15 minutes, when a player was sent off. Two great strikes by substitutes Matt Proudfoot and Alex Smeeth completed the scoring and sealed a good footballing performance by Week St. Mary.

Division 5   •  11th March 2006
Newmoor Reserves  2   -   5  Week St. Mary

A classic game of two halves in this top of the table clash with all seven goals scored in the second half. Newmoor had control in the first half with Rob Durrant in control at the back and Week chasing the game for much of it, but their dogged performance kept them in the game and despite several chances the home side didn’t capitalise and it was all level at half time.
A more positive Week came out in the second half and went ahead after 8 minutes when a clearance by the ‘keeper rebound off an incoming Rob Hambly into the net. Newmoor soon equalised from a strike by Alex Hawke and then took the lead when Ian Morton slotted home.  Week fought back and pulled level with a Darren Johns header in the box. The visitors tenacity paid off when Matt Proudfoot’s shot was spilled by the ‘keeper and Gavin Aplin pounced from close range. With Week gaining in confidence and moving the ball well Gavin Aplin headed in from Rob Hambly’s free kick with Matt Proudfoot’s looping shot over the ‘keeper completing the scoring. An entertaining game and an important win for Week who also ended Newmoor’s unbeaten run at home.

Division 5   •  18th March 2006
St. Merryn Reserves  1   -   3  Week St. Mary

Week started strongly and despite having most of the possession and several good chances it was just before half time when St Merryn took the lead, against the run of play, from a strike by Danny Jobson. The visitors continued to pressurise in the second half and with a disallowed goal and some good saves by ‘keeper Adrian Steele, didn’t equalise until the 70th minute when Matt Proudfoot netted from close range.
The home side soaked up the pressure and a draw looked likely until five minutes from time when a clearance in the box was rifled through the defence by Wayne Hannaford. Darren Johns headed in from Rob Hambly’s corner to secure a hard fought win for Week St. Mary.

Division 5   •  8th April 2006
Lostwithiel  1   -   7  Week St. Mary

A good display of football and a convincing win by Week St. Mary against third placed Lostwithiel.  The visitors dominated the first half and took the lead after 18 minutes when Matt Proudfoot ran onto Darren John’s pass over the defence and slotted it past the ‘keeper for his first. The home side were caught out again when a long goal kick by ‘keeper Matt Oke was well controlled by the fast moving Matt Proudfoot who drilled it home for his second. Wayne Hannaford’s curling corner beat the ‘keeper at the near post with Wayne also netting from close range to put Week four up at half time.
The visitors scored again early in the first half with a strike from Rob Hambly and Ollie Bennett replied for Lostwithiel. Another great strike gave Matt Proudfoot his hat trick and Ben Smeeth completed the scoring with a great header in the box from Rob Hambly’s corner.

Division 5   •  15th April 2006
Grampound Reserves  1   -   6  Week St. Mary

Week had most of the possession in the first half and a great strike by Rob Hambly put them ahead after 15 minutes. Two penalties within five minutes, Tom Hannaford for Week and Tim Topham for Grampound, made it 2-1 to the visitors. Week continued to pressurise scoring twice more before half time with a header from Nigel Barriball and a stunning long-range drive from Rob Hambly.
An improved performance by Grampound after the break; they made several good chances but were unable to find the net and it was Week that went further ahead when Tom Hannaford headed in from Rob Hambly’s corner. The home side continued to attack but were denied by two good saves from ‘keeper Matt Oke and a header off the line. Matt Proudfoot completed the scoring with the last kick of the game. Another good win for Week to keep them in contention for the Division 5 title.

Ten man Mount Charles went ahead after two minutes from a great shot by Dan Gadsby who pounced on a loose ball and curled it past the
