Week St. Mary Church
Crafts & Hobbies Exhibition 2011
This year Week St. Mary Church has
decided to make a change to its efforts
during the Scarecrow Festival and so
instead of having a Craft Fair we will
be decorating the church with examples
of the skilled work and hobbies of
people who live and work in the parish.
The idea is to beautify the church with
the work of valued members of our
community rather than to fill it with
items that are for sale. (Some of the
work may well be for sale or
commissioned and there will be details
of how to contact the person
responsible.)
The church will be selling books,
bric-a-brac and refreshments from
Thursday until Monday including lunches
on Friday, Saturday and Monday. The
Women's Institute is serving lunches in
the Chapel on Thursday and there will be
a concert in aid of Parish Hall funds in
the Hall on Sunday afternoon.
On Friday, Saturday and Monday there
will be flower arranging or cake
decorating demonstrations with the
products being raffled at the end of the
afternoon and the church tower will be
open on those afternoons for visits to
the roof. If anyone (over 9 years old)
would like to try bell ringing, they can
arrange a time between 4 - 5pm on those
days to come back and have a 'taster'
session with the captain of the ringers.
