This old photograph shows the Post Office in what was later to become Tom Bromell's shippon, with the telephone kiosk positioned outside albeit looking a non-red colour.

Because of the presence of the War Memorial we can date this picture to around 1920.

Ironic that despite moving further up the village for a few years it was to return not a stones throw from its original site....

This black and white photograph dates back to 'Sandercocks Shop' when a 'Mace' shop with a sign over the doorway simply said "Week St. Mary Post Office".

A more recent photograph showing the dominant presence of the 'Post Office' despite being an active village shop selling everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to pies and cakes along with the typical trappings of a mini-supermarket.

There isn't much that can't be bought here in our local village stores that just happens to have a Post Office inside.

For so many parishioners the facility of a Post Office along with the Village Stores offers a lifeline to those without transport or those unable to travel unaided or even to make use of any public transport (another sore subject!).

If we are unable to retain our Post Office it has been suggested that we will have a mobile facility 3 times a week for perhaps a couple of hours. So what happens if you cannot make it or you have another appointment at that time? We are so aware that after a few weeks they would be likely to withdraw the facility on the grounds that it was under used!
