During the middle of 2019 it was announced that Stratton Deanery would change to just 3 clusters. The previous 'Circle of Churches', encompassing Jacobstow, Poundstock, St. Gennys, Treneglos, Warbstow, Whitstone, Widemouth Bay and Week St. Mary was to change to the 'Central Cluster' of just 6 churches - this would be Bude, Week St. Mary, Poundstock, Marhamchurch, Whitstone and Widemouth Bay, whilst in 2021 it was changed again to The Bude Coast and Country Benefice consisting of just 6 churches (as below) and would be under the care of the current Rural Dean, Revd David Barnes.
