About our Community Shop.....

Following the retirement of the previous owners in 2017, and to prevent it from disappearing, the shop became a community owned and funded project, supported by many local people who generously invested in its future.

Since then it has been run by a small committee, Jackie, our Manager, assisted by Val, and an army of invaluable volunteers who together contribute over 3,000 hours a year either working in the shop during opening hours or working behind the scenes.

Week St Mary has been designated as one of the most isolated villages in Cornwall meaning that the importance of the shop within the village, both as a retail outlet and Post Office, and as a social hub within the community, cannot be understated. We sell everything from bread to potatoes, greeting cards to logs and offer an ever expanding range of competitively priced products sourced, wherever possible, from local suppliers. We also serve as an information bureau and provide a helping hand to those who need it.

The shop and Post Office are a vital resource to both villagers and holiday makers alike and all are ensured a warm and friendly welcome. If you’re staying in the village or surrounding area, pop in to stock up on all your holiday essentials, Cornish products or even a takeaway Cream Tea!
